NEW! East Bay Summer 2026 Art Intensive classes for age 8-14, Teens

Colorspace Arts in El Cerrito, CA has hired me to teach 2 classes for youth in their vibrant space this summer. Here are the classes I'll be offering.

Young Artists Art Studio:

June 22-June 26

This camp is designed for kids, 'tweens and young teens age 8-14 who love to make art.

Join us for 5 days of art exploration and experimentation using traditional medium: pastels, paint, graphite, block printing and more...

In the mornings we’ll practice observations and drawing from life including studies of objects from nature, still life setups and a clothed figure model

Afternoons will be spent exploring various 2-D mediums, culminating in our own big personal project.

Teen Art Studio 

July 27 to August 7

Teen Artists age 14-18: Get your art on with Barbara in this intensive 2 week studio course!

In the first week, we’ll tackle the fundamentals of drawing and painting, incorporating observations from life, gesture/contour drawings and several sessions with a live model. 

The second week will be devoted to finding your artistic voice through various mixed media options. Our 2 weeks of portfolio development will culminate in a lively gallery show.
